Zorn masterpieces exhibition

We have a trip planned to Sweden this summer to visit my grandma. And while there, we're going to make a little tour to Mora, Anders Zorn's home town. It's 150 years of his birth this year, and to celebrate that there's going to be an exhibition of his masterpieces in Zorn museum. There's going to be almost one hundred works on display. Here's a few of them:

Portrait of Cristina Morphy, watercolor

Les demoiselles Schwartz, watercolor

Rosita Mauri, watercolor

Frileuse, Oil

Kål Margit, Oil

Vågskvalp, watercolor

Vallkulla, Oil

Drottning Sophia, Oil

A lavishly illustrated catalog with texts by Sweden's leading Zorn specialists will be published. The exhibition will be held 13 may - 14 september 2010. I can't wait to see it!!

Lucky You! Sounds like a fun time!
I've most recently used the 'Zorn'
palette (4 colors) and found it helpful in understanding color mixtures.
These paintings you've posted are
excellent!
Thanks Arto!

Thank you Bill! I haven't tried the Zorn palette yet in my painting. Maybe I'll also give it a try some day!

Zornin maalaukset ovat kerrassaan ihania. 90-luvulla näin niitä "livenä" Tarvaspäässä olevassa näyttelyssä. Mahtavaa valon ja varjon leikkiä...
ja kyllä on upeita nämä sun omatkin tuotokset :)

Joo Zorn oli kyllä aivan loistava maalari. Vuonna 2004 pääsin itse näkemään Zornin töitä Retretissä. Aivan upeita olivat.
Ja kiitos kehuista, vaikka mulla onkin vielä valovuosi matkaa Andersin tasoon, mutta siihen pitää pyrkiä :)
